Slow Digestion? Constipated?

When I tell my clients that ideally they would be having a bowel movement every single day, some of them are surprised. They think that going to the toilet twice a week is normal. We work on making daily their new normal.

It’s impossible to feel your best when you’re full of sh💩t!!

Being constipated sucks.

It’s uncomfortable and no one feels hot and sexy when they haven’t been to the toilet in 3 days.

I can remember being 12 and the doctor telling me to eat bran muffins. It didn’t help.

Thank goodness my nutritional knowledge expanded and I now know how to keep my digestion running smoothly…every single day.

I love when this starts happening to my clients who previously had sluggish digestion. They are so happy and so am I 🙌

🚽 Here’s 5 things you can do to help improve your digestion:

1️⃣ Make sure you are drinking enough water. Aim for 2 litres per day.

Try adding 1-2 teaspoons of chia seeds and a squeeze of lemon and pinch of sea salt to your water and allow it to sit for 30 mins before drinking for extra digestion hydration.

2️⃣ Eat enough healthy fats. Your low fat diet is standing in they way of your healthy digestion.

Add in healthy fats like avocado, oily fish like sardines, coconut and olive oil, grass fed butter and ghee. Don’t survive off fat free products. 🥑

One way I like do this is by making a bulletproof coffee in the morning. I add 1 teaspoon of MCT oil to my black coffee, blend and enjoy. ☕️

3️⃣ Move your body for regular bowel movements. 🏃🏼‍♀️

Go for a walk, do yoga and include some twists, swim, dance, run, anything just move for 30 minutes. 🚶🏽‍♀️🧘‍♀️🚴‍♀️🏊🏼‍♀️

4️⃣ Get glowing gut health. 🦠

Make sure your gut microbiome is healthy, with a good balance of pre and probiotics rich foods. This is a post of its own!

5️⃣ Slow down sis! 🚽💩

If you don’t give yourself time in the morning to act on the urge, you might miss your window of opportunity for the day.

Wake up earlier and give yourself time in the morning. Go slow so your do your business.
